Try recording someone doing what you intend - or look for an example on Youtube from right angle.

some people use virtualdub: - http://www.virtualdub.org/ but it prefers AVI files. or avidemux: - http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/ I pay and use QuicktimePro. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/extending/ It loads everything AS produces and does alpha channels perfectly (whether in PNG or mov formats)....

They really are excellent, small scale studies aren't they.
