Vern, You were right. Though the outline looked closed, it wasn't. I discovered that by dragging each point and seeing if the shape followed it. One other question: I created the outline using my Wacom tablet, and its border is pretty thick (too much pen pressure). After I converted it to a shape I ...

A Freehand tool problem
I created a closed shape using the Freehand tool that resembles a hot dog. I used my Wacom tablet to do it. Then, I clicked its outline with the Create Shape tool to try to convert it to a shape. The outline is selected but not filled with a checkerboard. I then press the SPACEBAR. The outline is de...

Getting someone to stand from a seating position
I have a character in a seating position, and I can't get them into a standing posture from a sitting posture. Right now, the torso is the parent of the head and upper leg, and the upper leg is the parent of the lower leg.
Any help on how I can do this would be much appreciated.

Vern,
I think your suggestion to just rotate the thigh bone in the opposite direction should solve my problem.
Thanks,
Howard

Bone movement questions
I have a back bone that is the parent of a thigh bone; the thigh bone is the parent of the lower leg bone. When the back bone moves back I want the thigh bone to move back in the same direction but I want it to move less than the back bone moves. How can I do that? Secondly, when the back bone and t...

Does a bone's "direction" make a difference?
Does it make a difference as to the direction a bone's pointing toward? If it does, in what way?

I can move the top part (head) with the Offset Bone tool but not the bottom part (torso). Anyone know why that is?

Yes, the vector shapes are on two separate layers, and those two layers are "embedded" within a bone layer.

Why can't I offset a bone?
http://www.self-improvement-books.biz/Images/No_offset.png I want to move the body (bottom) shape up so it's next to the top shape, however, though I'm using the Offset Bone tool, when I try to move the bottom shape both shapes only move as a unit. I put the first bone in the torso (bottom), the se...
