Dogwaffle Pro 5.1b has new tools for animators and textures
Heya and happy New Year to all. I hope it's ok to mention other animation/painting software in this thread here, especially as it relates to a free update and new mini tutorials. Just a quick note for those here who use PD Pro 5.0 along with Anime Studio, there's a free update available, contact us....

Being able to write custom effects using Lua script has long been a request of mine. Doubly so, now you are telling that there are libraries of effects already out there that we could adapt. Mike must already have a library of image filtering functions that the standard effects call internally, so ...

Hi Lua-mohoer's, I am gathering info regarding LUA and the use of it across various applications. I am interested in knowing if LUA scripting is in Moho 5.3 too or only recent AnimeStudio 6, and the Debut or only Pro edition? As far as I know, the first version to come with LUA and use it for tools...

Lua scripting since which version?
Hi Lua-mohoer's, I am gathering info regarding LUA and the use of it across various applications. I am interested in knowing if LUA scripting is in Moho 5.3 too or only recent AnimeStudio 6, and the Debut or only Pro edition? We use LUA scripting like in the GIMP and other imaging tools to make spec...

I think of Mirage as kind of a hybrid between Painter (in some ways) and After Effects. It's bitmap - based. You can import things you scanned, but also draw directly within the program - especially if you have a tablet. Correct. In fact ironically I have used this comparison a lot for Dogwaffle to...

Mirage is a bit of a different approach to animation compared to Moho/Anime Studio. My understanding of it, is that you use it to import hand-drawn keyframes, then use it to ink/paint and generate tweening based on that. Basically, it's designed more for traditional animators rather than for newer ...

Nobody seems to be worried about Bauhaus over at the Bauhaus forums. As a Bauhaus user it seems that you're entitled to an upgrade version of TVPaint, so I don't think you lose by being a Bauhaus owner. (at least from what I understand) And Bauhaus/TVPaint/Aura or whatever you want to call it is pr...

Dogwaffle... ummm, Windows only. Amateur product, imho. Owner is good at marketing, though. thanks. Dogwaffle web site , one of the ugliest I've ever seen :P thanks :-) Painter is a much better alternative, may cost a bit more, but it is multi-platform. depends on a number of things. Project DOgwaf...

PD Particles - a companion tool
http://www.thebest3d.com/pdp This is based on a small subset of Project Dogwaffle's PD Pro, i.e. a standalone version of the particle brush plugin and internal natural brush system. No custom brushes, no animation, no layer, no filters (with a few exceptions for color correction). These are left to ...

LUA? I love it! Dogwaffle too...
Man I can't believe it - you guys use LUA also for your scripting? We have a Lua scripting front end too, in Project Dogwaffle. It's for making filters. It is based on a LUA subset, named gluas at the GIMP. Would be great to see if we can interchange filters between Dogwaffle and Moho. Anyone? Oh, a...

Pro Pro Digital Painter 3.6 update
It's been a few weeks since 3.6 came out now, but since we forgot to mention it here: PD Pro 3.6 is now out ;-) www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/whatsnew/3_6 I know there are some moho'er's who also use Dogwaffle. I hope you can get this free update. (meaning: I hope you use 3.x already ) Something parti...

oh and then there's the successor to Amapi, at least to Amapi Designer and prior versions, i.e. without the Nurbs features, but with great subdivision modeling, curve based tools and oh-so-sweet direct painting of textures, bump maps and displacement maps, in Hexagon 2. It is now owned by DAZ. If yo...
