How do you select a segment of audio and delete the rest and establish a repeating pattern? I'm unable to cut and paste like I'm used to in text management. (beginner obviously)

Beginner w/Anime Studio 8. Why are only five drawing tools showing? I wanted to add a new line and can't seem to reset to get the line tool. It went away. Naive no doubt, but frustrated.
