In my never-ending quest to push the envelope in 2.5D animation I made this video with a little help from a small sculpture of the character.

Re: XYZ point coordinates
OK, that makes sense.synthsin75 wrote:Points do not have a z-axis value, but their layers do.

XYZ point coordinates
I'm trying to determine the XYZ coordinates of a single point which is part of a layer shape. I can get the XY coordinates by using the Transform Points tool but I can't find out the position on the Z axis. If you click on theTransform Layer tool it just gives you the center of the layer. Can anyone...

Re: My latest animation
Thanks! The head was a smart bone action. Just the mouth was FBF.lwaxana wrote:haha love it! And the animation looks amazing! You didn't use frame by frame on the head angles?

Re: My latest animation
Actually, the only part of it that was FBF was the mouth. The rest of it was bones and stretch & squash.3deeguy wrote:That had to be FBF! That's classic animation. I watched it repeatedly.

Re: My latest animation
Thanks, slow tiger. Your observation about the smooth timing is very astute. Yes, I think the timing could be better with snappier timing. Maybe I'll have another go at it.slowtiger wrote:Nearly perfect. Maybe a bit too smooth, too stoned?

My latest animation
I found some funny dialog about an old hippie reminiscing about the old days so I decided to animate him.

OK, I'll try that.synthsin75 wrote:You don't need a switch keyframe to keyframe the vectors inside it.

Re: Head turn with eye blinks
That helps but is there another way can you connect the eyes with a head turn if it's not inside a smart bone action?synthsin75 wrote:If you have a switch keyframe in the smart bone action, you will not be able to switch it manually.

Head turn with eye blinks
I'm trying to animate a head with smart bones (X & Y rotations) and have eyes in switch layers (open, squint, closed, wide, etc.) However, when I animate the head rotation bones the eye switch layers refuse to switch. It's driving me nuts. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

3D environment animation
This was a test of ASP's 3D capabilities for creating environments. Work in progress.

ASP and Flash
Recently a potential client got in touch with me about a job being done in Flash. I explained to them I didn't do Flash but I do work in Anime Studio. Does anyone know how well, if at all, Flash & ASP get along? In other words, can Flash assets, rigged models be imported into ASP?
Thanks,
