Re: Animate Layer Order Issues in 9.5

I just remembered "sort layers by depth," which, for the moment, seems to be uninhibited by the limitations of group ordering with smart bones.

Re: Animate Layer Order Issues in 9.5

Darn. I was hoping that wasn't the case. I suppose I'll have to put the ears in the head folder, which is already full of many layers and masking layers. But even so, If I have a Smart Bone action that turns the body, or head, and I need to have a limb folder move about, it sounds like I won't be ab...

Animate Layer Order Issues in 9.5

So I have this nice rig of a man set up in ASP 9.5 and have completed a 360 degree head turn. I have set every appendage into their own folder, including the ears. I have animate layer order enabled and have the ears moving in front of and behind the head depending on the direction the head turns. B...

Bones and Folder Hierarchy

Version 9.5 user here. I have spent some time trying to crack the mystery of masking and finally achieved it, which largely involves placing every layer inside a folder and using a careful sequence of 2 to 3 masking types. My method can give me greatly detailed characters which is what I wanted all ...

Re: Just A Roach & His Food

Thanks for the compliments! The sound effects I got from freeSFX.co.uk. The voices are mine. I'm a little upset about the render quality, though. Once I rendered it, I brought it into iMove and synched the sound to the animation. I know I should have done that in reverse, but I'm curious to know wha...

Just A Roach & His Food

This is the first scene I have ever animated. I have spent most of my time designing and rigging characters, while giving them intricate smart bone actions for 360-degree turns. I am pretty pleased with the results. It was a great teaching experience, as I had to devise some workarounds for some of ...

Re: Motion Graph Issues

Yes!!! Thank you, Selgin. That did the trick. Now I have keyframes.

Motion Graph Issues

I've been puzzled as to why I am unable to get keyframes into my Motion Graph. I am working in 9.5 and all I see in the Motion Graph timeline are brown lines representing movement. I cannot manipulate anything in the Motion Graph.

Re: Smartbones and Wings - A Short Test

Most definitely. I was just worried at the time with seeing how the wings work.

I can do another quick animation to show my updated rig which, more or less, shows an attempt at 360-degree turns.

Smartbones and Wings - A Short Test

First post in the forums for me. I've been using Anime Studio for about a year now, mostly teaching myself with the vast array of tutorials and webinars. I created this rig of an American Cockroach for a web series I want to get started in the future. It's a 10-second test of how to get the roach to...
