I don't see the problem. The AS window is never bigger than your screen. If you want to make the window smaller, you need to disable the advanced checkbox of the style window, but if you continually try to resize the AS window, it will try to accommodate everything you need to see in the window. Because it's a retina screen it might, for the application internally, work as as 1440 x 900. But that would still be enough, it seems.

I didn't have much time to work on this the past two weeks but today I got around to render the scene with the cars created in Blender / imported as .obj objects:



I can still use only one thread for this scene, but that's not so bad.

I tried to create a car in Blender, export it as .obj and import in AS. It turns out that it works quite well, though the edges (strokes) look a bit weird. But when I deselect them it looks quite decent:
