Can anyone recommend a tutorial on project setup
Hi! Having done numerous bits and pieces, I wanted to try a little longer project -- say 20 - 30 seconds, with several characters, and lots of moving parts. I'm pretty sure I can do all the individual effects that I'm looking for, but I haven't found any guideance on how to organize a bigger project...

Re: Remove action reference from mainline
Hi! Thank you. Maybe I don't have the project or view set up right, because this doesn't seem to work. My top layer is the bone layer, with a lot of vector and switch layers underneath. If I have just the bone layer, or all the layers selected, it only seem to show the keyframes related to bone acti...

Remove action reference from mainline
Hello, Is there a command to remove an action reference from the mainline. I know you can highlight the referenced action and delete it, but that seems to delete only the part of the action applying to the currently active layer. Is there a way to delete everything in all layers pertaining to a spec...

Tips for edit of existing character
Hi All, I have a rigged character with a number of animations that I'm reasonably happy with, but want to make a few tweaks - basically I'm try to edit without goofing up what I have already - and I'm looking for some advice on what to do and not to do (but of course if any of what I'm doing is in g...

Re: Paint bucket not conforming to shapes?
Hi All, Thanks so much for the help. It can be a little frustrating, when the software's user manual is showing the wrong way of going about things. You guys are life-savers! Just to make sure I understand method 1: A. Draw the line segment(s) intersecting the main shape. B. Weld the endpoints of of...

Paint bucket not conforming to shapes?
Hi All, I have a some vector artwork in a single shade that I am trying to add highlights and shadows to (trying to achieve cel shading effect). I thought that the paint bucket tool would be the way to do this, basically draw an intersecting curve on the main shape to isolate where I want the highli...

Re: Mixing and overlapping actions
Awesome, thanks! The tutorial seemed helpful, but said you needed to freeze keyframes "to avoid problems" and wasn't more specific. Now that I know what it actually does, I know when and when not to employ it.

Re: Mixing and overlapping actions
OK, thanks, I'll look at that. One of the tutorials said something about using "freeze pose" at every keyframe - does that affect all the bones? Otherwise, I seem to recall a pop-up when I inserted certain keyframes that said something about sublayers. ... hehe, and I learned after about 1...

Re: Mixing and overlapping actions
Hi - sorry for lack of specificity. The tutorial I was referring to was just the one in the manual, page 204. And it was just regular actions. Basically I have an action that effect the lower body, like walking as an action, and one action the effects the upper body - some breathing, head nodding an...

Mixing and overlapping actions
I've tried to follow the tutorial on using actions but with my own models. My actions work fine on their own, and will work sequentially on the main line, but when I try to overlap, they end up overwriting, not overlapping (the second action completely overwrites the first one starting at the point ...

OK, thanks. I can fix the node in AS, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I was doing wrong on the import

Import svg - missing nodes and distorted shapes
Hi, When importing an svg file, I am finding areas where a shape has been distorted and there are a lot of missing nodes. In other words, the import is not exact, but it's being manipulated in some way. It's not a huge change, but it doesn't happen uniformly - so for example the shape of a character...

Add Symmetrical Points
I'm trying to create the body of a snake to rig. So far using a long vector shape with lots of points, the segments set to curves, and "sketch bones" seems to work on a quick draft. But when I go back in to do a precise drawing, I wonder how to add all the points symmetrically. (so for exa...
