Looks like Adobe have U-turned already.
Now they'll continue to maintain Animate, but with no new features. Sounds like their stock price took a hit.

Re: Adobe Animate is going end-of-life
I always avoided Adobe products because I don't like subscription models, but I know that Animate was really well regarded.
Is this just because it doesn't fit with their drive to integrate AI into everything? I genuinely don't understand their business decision here.

Adobe Animate is going end-of-life
So Adobe is shooting itself in the foot and just getting rid of it's animation software?
There's going to be a huge influx of animators coming to Moho from the Adobe ecosystem very soon.

Re: Unwanted smartbones action
Perfect, thank you!
I put the head into it's own group, reapplied the layer change keyframes and it works now.
Thanks again.

Unwanted smartbones action
I don't usually use smart bones in Moho 12.5, but I wanted to try out a head/body turn. The smart bone for the head turn works fine, the straps at each side of the mask change layer order as the character turns their head. I've just added a separate smartbone for the body turn though, and it's affec...

No way! Katherine?
Small world.
Yes she was really easy to work with, and I almost wish that I had a bigger part for her so that I could use her voice again.
I usually get voice actors from the r/RecordThisForFree subreddit, that was the first time that I used Fiverr and it really worked out.

Thanks for the feedback.
What do you think needs improving with the lip sync?
Is it the mouth shapes used, or are they not hitting the dialogue beats correctly?

A punk and an artist walk into a squat...
This scene is the longest one that I've ever animated, all 4 minutes and 30 seconds of it. Like most of the things that I do, it's dialogue-heavy, but I've tried a few things here that I've never done before. Including frame-by-frame animation. The humour isn't for everyone (and be warned that there...

Ralph Bakshi's 'The Cigarette and the Weed'
A previously lost Ralph Bakshi short has just resurfaced.

Using new graphics tablet to get a sketchy look
https://i.imgur.com/8RC6xgf.gif I treated myself to a new drawing tablet in the Black Friday sales, and I'm trying out a new way of drawing characters with it. On each layer I'm loosely sketching out the character with the Freehand tool, without trying to create shapes. just loose, unconnected line...

Short monologue scene. Lonely girl in a bar
This is a short scene from an animated short that I keep plugging away at in my spare time. 7Twcj0R11nI Some of the movement is done by making keyframes of reference footage and then using point animation to merge between the keyframes. It kinda has the rotoscoped look that I wanted. The dialogue is...

Moho in Shazam deleted scene
I see that the director of Shazam has used Moho previously.
Here's a link about a deleted scene from Shazam 2 that he animated in Moho.

Re: Making Animations with AI?
Although I wouldn't use it 'as is' I can see it being useful for generating reference for key poses.
I wonder how well it maps characters with more cartoony proportions.

Re: Finished dialogue scene
That's a really interesting article, thanks for linking to that.
I do intend for this to be part of a longer piece. I like the 'Waiting for Godot' comparison, I'm animating this short with the feeling that it's 'as if Kes was made as a Saturday morning, kids cartoon'...
