Rasheed, Yes, in fact the showed samples are exactly what I had in mind at first place (the cartoon shading). About to open hand of technology and pick up a pencil, I am really not the guy for that, since I have not this kind of skills. As I have told here a few times, I am not a cartoonist at heart...

Hi, I just figured out something that made me soooo sad. As you can imagine, the old Flash problem. When exporting an animation with shade effects to SWF format, guess what: no effects. Of course, I couldnt expect that it would be different, since Flash have not these effects. Beside, I stayed playi...

Hi Rhoel, You can also use a bitmap image as a fill - I used a graduated fill image to simulate light falling on mechanical objects ... the result was like 3D. I am avoiding to use bitmaps because it will be exported to SWF format, and I have size limitations, etc, anyway, this is a LONG story! Ther...

Tool for 2D shade effect? It exists?
Hello, Here I am again. As you well know, I am not a cartoonist then I am always in search of some miraculous tools to help to pretend I can draw! I was wondering if there is any kind of tool to help to apply shade effects into 2D plain colour shapes, like the ones we usually find in mangas. I am no...

Node editing?
Hello everybody, I am trying to learn some basics about node editing in AS, but there is something that is bugging me. I was trying to move (or translate) a curve node in order to deform the curve segment binded to it. for that I am trying to use the "Curvature" tool, but it is not working...

Hey, thanks for everybody! As far as I could understand, in case of 2D animations using tools like AS, I will notice too much more difference if I upgrade my PC to a more power CPU then. I use an Athlon XP 1.4 Ghz with 512MB RAM, and the processment and programs working is not too bad, unless when I...

Worthes to get an OpenGL card for process 2D graphics?
Hi, I am thinking if worthes to spend some bucks to put an OpenGL supported card for 2D animation, because I readed somewhere that it will just make difference if I am rendering 3D things. Is it true? Beside that, I have 2 cards in my computer (2 monitors - 19" and 17") and I was thinking ...

Hi, I found a very handy, cheap and easy-to-use software called Fantamorph. Take a look at: http://www.fantamorph.com/. Take a look in this cool animation starting from just 5 pictures: http://www.fantamorph.com/samples.php?ixSample=5 Maybe it's not what you are looking for, but it's not bad to know...
