A short animation I created in Anime Studio Pro 8. Still learning Anime Studio. This time trying the 3D functions in the animation, making the characters desk, computer and mug with 3D objects. The character is a creation of mine for the RMC site for teens, teenagesurvival.com
There is a section on the RMC site where teens can ask Andy questions on an online forum. This animation is just taking one of the questions and answers and making it into a little clip.

Yes, the 3D objects were created in Anime Studio. It was awkward at first figuring out how it works and finding how to get multiple pieces to fit together and adjusting the width of objects. Plus working in layers.
With the desk, although I didn't show it in this clip, I wanted his arms and hands to be on top of the desk surface, which they are, but if I move the camera to a lower camera angle it doesn't look right (as you can see in top image). So to fix that, I added a another piece to the desktop, a higher edge, so if the camera does reaches that angle, it covers the arm and hand.

this is really great! nice character, and impressive use of 3D functions. I've not used them really but they integrate with the scene seemlesly, which is fantastic. Lip sync and voice work is great, and nice limited animation.
Two comments - 1, the titles at the beginning, as the text comes to camera it clips. I would place the text or camera so that you go through a gap in the letters, or fade?
2 - when the computer first speaks, the characters mouth moves at the same time so I assumed the robotic voice was his. maybe have some anticipation by representing the robotic voice on the screen the question comes up on (i didn't notice the speaker moving the first time) - either with a EQ bars or or even just a synced colour fade in/out. I see he is startled by the voice but maybe have a sort of 'computer about to speak' sound - some sort of whistle like on start trek?
lastly, and this is presonal preference, but it might be 'funnyer' if the eye's blink more together (still offset for comedy value) rather than just having their own life... I like the pupil smear, I tend to add in blinks during extreme pupil movements.
well done!
