Action keyboard short cuts?

Doses anyone know how to use the action keyboard short cuts?

Yeah, you press play then while the animation is running, you can use whatever shortcut key you've assigned to insert the action. The key frame for that action won't show up until you hit stop.

Kind of useless if you can't control the payback speed?

yup, really only good for quick actions like blinks.
