could i rotate a bone in 3D?here is a sample seems making it

Post by foxyhu »

i just put the sample file at here,
http://savefile.com/files/1163039

it is about a bear's head turning.

i put the swf file generated at
http://savefile.com/files/4922065

i studied the moho file, it seems that the bones ARE rotated in 3D.
but i do not know how to realize it even i studied the file.

anyone any tips or suggestions?

It looks like it is "faked". Frames 36 to 42 are used to modify the vector points and the bones are moved/scaled to go with the points, they do not actually rotate but by a clever combination of points moving and bone placement it looks as if it's turning. Delete some keyframes, for instance in the "face" layer to see how it's done.

Reindert.

yep. this is not a 3d object. and there's not a way to move bones in 3d.
but... no, before the but i want answer something: do you work with 3d objects (.obj)?

if you said no: there's no but
if you said yes: but when you work with .obj, you can put bones to it, then you can move the bones in 2d. if you wanna a more complex movement, take de bone layer and turn it (with the tool wich turn all the layer), then the bones will be turned and the movement now will be 3d.

to do more complex movements, you can separate the 3d object and export it piece by piece to moho. then, put this objects into bone layers and turn the object (not the bone layer) in the position you want that the movement be. when you have the layer in this position, put the bones and turn the bone layer now to the real position.
making this, you can do a much more complex animation.
as you can see, i don't speak english well, but i hope to be useful.

there are two animations made with this technique. in the first pay attention to the catapult and in the second the completely characters are in 3d.

again, i hope o be useful.

ouch.
i could like to writte a tutorial, but i don't speak english. is hard just writte this messages... and, a tutorial? i don't think so.
nevertheless, i remember i wrote more about that in some post in share your work. i had found this
http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2210

if you are really really new, will be difficult to work with 3d objects. teh technique is hard and to make a animation is very slow.
well, if you have any question, just ask me. if i can, i'll help you.

eso.
