parts of my animation won't show up when I click "rende

Post by soconfused »

I'm almost done my first animation and when I click render the character's arms never show up outlined and the fill colors look less bright. (This only happens to the arms of my cartoon) The option not to render the particular layer is not enabled so I have no idea why this happens. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks so much!

You mean something like this, where some parts of the rendered image are translucent (or missing)? I think it is a bug and have reported it as such.

Hey,

That's exactly what I am talking about. Do you know what can be done about it? Or do I have to do all those parts over???

I export as JPEG, import into an image editor; add transparency to the layer; select the background, enlarge the selection by one pixel to remove the anti-aliasing and clear the selection (so effectively replacing the background color with total transparency); save as PNG.

Another solution would be to export the movie as PNG and pick the frame image you want to use. Luckily, this bug doesn't occur in export movie. As a shortcut you could render only those images up to the frame you want to have as a still picture.

Which procedure is faster depends on the render time of export movie. If it is under a few minutes, I would opt for the export movie and pick the frame image you want, otherwise I want export a rendered frame as JPEG and do some image processing on that.

Rasheed, could you post that sample .moho file ?

Kate, are you (like Rasheed) also using a Mac?

On a few quick tests, I've been unable to replicate this problem on Windows, so I'm really just being nosy, but maybe the information will help Lost Marble.

Regards, Myles.

Yes Myles, I'm using a Mac. AFAIK I didn't have this problem prior to version 5.3.1. I already deleted the file, but I have made a new file, which is essentially the same:
cross.moho
And here is the rendered PNG file:

Also see my bug report, which also lists a Moho file to download and reports some additional possible bugs:

There is a bug when rendering PNG specifically - see my post on the other thread.
