Ease Out with linear Start

Post by undo »

hi, when i set a Keyframe in the GraphEditor to Ease Out,
the Beginning of the line is always Soft.
So it also Eases In.
Is it possible to start Linear and end Soft/Easing out?

You are right in that not all the descriptions (ease out for example) don't produce the expected end result.
You can achieve good control over your motion curves by using the graph mode. I think I am not alone in hoping that this part of the software be improved, but until this happens, this is a good work round.

In extreme cases, such as very violent accelerations, I tend to draw a guide to the move on a separate layer. I turn on the construction curves so that the drawing can be seen when I am in the layer above, then I can create keys for each frame individually, circumventing the whole issue of inbetweens that don't do what you want.

thanks for the hint,
its sad that it has to be done that way.
If Ease Out and Ease In really would not both Ease In and Out,
this would not be necessary.
