Now he tells me!

Post by -RR- »

Hi all, sorry to do this late, but this is for any of you who were on the fence about upgrading before tomorrow's deadline....

I took a chance and made some discoveries.

1 - Moho 13.5 does run on Windows 7......BUT......the pressure sensitivity doesn't work, and you may need update Windows fix KB2999226.
2 - You can have 12.5 (which still has working pressure sensitivity) and 13.5 both on your system. You don't have to uninstall one for the other. Install the new one in a different directory.

I haven't discovered everything yet, but I figured you should at least know that.

FWIW, I found that pressure doesn't necessarily work in Windows 10 either. There's apparently a bug with how Moho 13.5 is handling Windows Ink when using a Wacom tablet.

In a nutshell, you need to enable Windows Ink to get pen pressure. The Wacom Settings window lets you configure this setting differently for every program, so you can turn it on for Moho and leave it off or on for other programs as needed. The bad thing is, enabling Windows Ink for Moho will disable the Wacom pen button's ability to Right-Click. This is not a problem for Moho 12.5, so it's definitely a bug. (It's always something, isn't it?) :)

Additionally, this behavior is erratic: With a bit of fiddling, I can get Moho to have stylus pressure and right-mouse button clicking for a while, but then it quickly goes back to the broken behavior described above.

Lost Marble has been made aware of the problem so hopefully a fix is coming soon.

I don't normally draw with the Freehand tool because there are other problems with it, so for now I leave Windows ink disabled so at least I have Right-Click with the finger button. (BTW, the right-click bug only affects the Wacom Pen, not a mouse or trackball.)
