Easy Suggestions For Fixing Lame Scene

I am looking for some easy suggestions for fixing a kind of lame scene in my concept trailer.

I have a scene of a young boy sprouting bunny ears and hoping away. The scene looks pretty lame and awkward in comparison to the other scenes.

I am having to keep the scene a bit on the longer side than planned because of the trailer's pacing so I got to redo it anyway to get rid of the awful jump cut/crossfade.

I am going flip the nose, change the hair style as much as my character design will allow, but anyone else have some simple suggestions. Head needs to stay on the front view angle.
