copy last frame to a new scene

Post by kasjorg »

What´s the easiest way to copy the position of all my chars. camera etc to a new scene for hook-up? I´ve tried the copy frames and I´ve tried some copy load scripts. What i do now is save my scene under a new name -copy the last frame to frame 1using the copy frame function and then go through all my layers and delete all the keyframes manually, -there must be an easier way right? :)

I'm trying to remember how I did this before...

I used the scale key frame script and scaled everything down to 2 key frames.

Scaling this down will pretty much delete all your keys except for that last one. Everything ends up on frame 1 and 2 with your last key frame on frame 2.

You still have to delete frame 1 on all your layers. Or you could just start your new animation on frame 2 when you render and then you don't have to do anything else.

Make sure that all channels are keyed for all layers on the same key frame (the last one).

Try it on a test file first please! I don't want to lose any sleep if it doesn't work!

This is probably what heyvern ment, I'm just trying to break it down to understand it clearly.

1. "Copy Current Frame" the last frame to frame 1 (entire document).
2. "Copy Current Frame" 1 to somewhere past the last keyframe, say 1300.
3. "Rescale Keyframes", Rescale Entire Document
4. "Start frame 1", Endframe "1300"
5. "New Start Frame 1", "New End Frame 2"

The desired frame (copied to frame 1 at the step 1 above) now end up at frame 2!? Frame 1 is occupied with something from out of the blue, it seems. However, starting animation/rendering from frame 2 works fine.. :)

You could also try (after rescaling the keyframes to 2 frames) the script I posted last night to delete all keyframes on all layers of frame 1, then use Crashcore's shift layer keyframes script to move frame 2 to frame 1 for all layers, if you don't want to start from frame 2.

Good except scripts are missing

Scaling the key frames worked good, but I can't get the Crashcore scripts:

Anyone have them somewhere else?
