switch layers

Post by kfried27 »

Well, I have been through the online tutorials, etc,. and still can't figure this out....

I made a character head, made the mouths, etc. and imported the soundtrack. All went well, the mouth moved, the sound played, etc. Now I am trying to make the eyes blink while the mouth moves. I made the switch layers and the sub images....and now what? How do I get this thing to blink and talk?

Uhm, did you make a different switch layer for the eyes? Because that's what you need: one switch for mouths, another one for eyes.

yes, two different layers. Thanks, though, that comment made me laugh.
One layer is for the mouth and there are five images in it and one is form the eyes and there are four images in it. The eyes images layer appears to be "under" the mouth layer- could that be an issue?

YES!

Remember how switches work. Each layer INSIDE a switch is just another "choice" for display. If your eyes switch is INSIDE a switch it will only show up if it is set in the switch layer that contains it or is the parent.

Put the eye switch OUTSIDE of the mouth or head or face switch whatever. Then you set the keys for the eye blink switch separately.
