Can i import a photo and makes arms move?

A new user and having great fun with Anime Studio - I've been searching for tutorials and have enjoyed learning. My question is, is it possible to import a digital photograph and make arms and legs move?

Yes i probably just need a push. It looks like i might be able to with the addition of many bones! I think it may take a lot of time for me too, so i didn't want to spend loads and loads of time on it if it's not possible!

Welcome to Anime Studio, Sallydog. The built-in tutorials cover this exact question, so take a look in there (in particular the images section of the tutorials, but I'd recommend checking them all out, and in order, as well).

In Photoshop or gimp, take the photo and copy it as many times as parts that you need. Next isolate the parts by making, everything else alpha. Then import as png files into AS. Rig, then animate.

Not hard at all.

Loads and loads of time? So spending "loads and loads" of time means what... 5 seconds? 5 minutes? An hour? A day? If you did all the tutorials that came with AS, that might take a day or two but then you would know how image layers work. The default file that opens when you launch AS is a character made entirely of image layers. You could try typing in "image layers" or "puppet" in the search on this forum.

"loads and loads of time" from your perspective might actually be the definition of animation.

Sally, go though all the tutorials. That way when someone suggest that you use a vector layer to complete or cover up the brakes in image character, you know what they are talking about.
