Newbie and exporting
Hello there
I download the demo version and try to animate something.
I build an puppet with 2 arms and two bones, I was able to move those arms and then try to export the file.
The avi format is uncompressed , like 131 megabyte for 3 seconds.
The quicktime format runs fine.
Flash exporter: the file is empty. I mean , I can see only a white window.
It export a flash file but without image inside.
The puppet is made by a png files and is not vector image. I made it using fireworks.
Another thing: does the background of a scene is a simple a image layer?
Sorry for my english.
I want to buy moho but first , I want to be sure that I can use it .

the mov file.
It works but i 'd like to export in flash also. Do I made some mistake during the procedure?
Okay, I added a background and a soundtrack but still, the flash file is empty. The .mov file works.

the giant rodent is called "Affuso" and i'd like to make some little toon with him as a main character.

Flash does not support the kind of image warping that Moho can do. So, if you're using bones together with images, you need to make sure that the image layers are attached to the bones directly, rather than warped by them.
Take a look at Tutorial 4. 1 in the manual - the technique it shows is compatible with Flash.
The other thing to watch out for is the image formats you use - Flash is limited in the formats it supports. For more information, look at the Reference->Flash Tips section of the Moho manual.
If this doesn't clear it up, can you post a copy of the Moho file, including the images you used? I can take a look to see why it's not exporting to Flash.

Ehi, thanks for the quick reply.
This is the new mov file http://www.3wstyle.net/public/files_upl ... /affff.mov
this is the body of Affuso
http://www.3wstyle.net/public/files_upl ... corpo1.png
the arms are png files also .
I made it with fireworks : gif--->png
I simply dragged the arm layer into the skeleton layer, like the 1.4 example.
Then I can move the Affuso's arm.

the moho file
the other images.

I deleted the background , there is only the puppet and a blue background.
update: I uncheckerd warping using bones but the flash file is still empty.

I think this is what you're trying to achieve. Inlcuded in the archive below are the images, a Moho file with animation, and an exported SWF file.

By the way, the link you gave to your Moho file doesn't seem to work.

Not Tutorial 1.4, but Tutorial 4.1 (but maybe that was just a typo...). Also, that's not all that Tutorial 4.1 tells you to do. If you look at 4.1 again, you'll see that it tells you to use the Bind Layer tool to bind the image layer to the bone. It's not enough to just drag it into the bone layer, you need to bind it to a specific bone. This is what I did in the example file above, and it should work fine when exporting to Flash.red hamster wrote:I simply dragged the arm layer into the skeleton layer, like the 1.4 example.

Hi All
I opened moho again; this time I dragged the images, than binded both the arms with the rispective bones ( 2 bones and 1 bones levels).
A simple experiment
The mov exported file is nearly what I planned to do: Affuso the hamster move his arms and the screen moves too. The swf exported file is ...unreal.
I did not warped the image and the format, png and jepg is appropriate.
Where I made the mistakes?
.I 'd like to purchase the software but I want to be sure than I 'll be able to use it .

What you want to do can definitely be done with Moho (see my previous post for a working example). However, there are a lot of strange things happening in your file.
First, it first looks like there are only two bones, but there are actually four - two of them are just very, very short so that you can't see them at first. You have to zoom in very, very close to the pointy ends of the visible bones to see the tiny ones. Although they're very small, they can still affect the movement of the image layers. The first thing to do is to delete these extra bones.
I suspect that when you are creating bones, you are clicking once at the base of the bone, and then clicking again when you are finished dragging out the bone. This is not necessary - just let go of the mouse button when you have stretched out a new bone to its desired length. If you click again very quickly, you will create these tiny bones like I found in your file. I don't know how else these microscopic bones got created.
Next, one of the image layers is bound to a bone, and one is not. I used the Bind Layer tool to bind each of the image layers to the closest bone.
Next the origins of the arm image layers have been moved way off to the sides. I don't know if this is accidental, but I reset the origin points to their original locations.
Finally, each of the arm layers has a Layer Translation keyframe at frame 30. This keyframe makes the arms appear to "drift" or float around the body - this just doesn't look good, so I removed those keyframes.
You can download the Moho file with these changes here:

This file exports fine to SWF and QuickTime.

Hi again: I dl and install the latest version of moho and , orribile dictu, It works worst than the other in my system.
I am very frustrated and sad because this: I promised to do "hamsteresque cartoons " but it seems than I can't use the software or there is some bug. I can't afford flash or use a warez copy.
I opened the same files , carefully placed one bone for each arm and tryed to animate . I just click one time for bone , click and dragged.
And I get any sort of errors: I can animate one arm , the second bones won't works , It float around or move the other arm.
I use the same procedure that I used in the past: place the layers, drag them into the bone layers, then add two bones, bind them and try to animate.
Using the prior version, there are problems with flash exporter but I can animate, now I did the same step and can't animate.
Sincerly, I appreciate a lot the support , just want to undestand what's wrong, the software is valid, no doubt about it.

things get better, I read again the manual and learn some tips, like to use the parent child connection and bone strenght.
But the risult is still not what I planned.
http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1W76 ... KRQ7USFJGY
the arm still seems to float a little in the flash file but not in the quicktime.
