no pressure sensity from drawing tablet

Post by AniPierre »

I am using a DigiPro WP5540 Pen Tablet, which I believe is actually produced by a company called UC-Logic. I can get a variable strength stroke in every piece of graphic software I own that supports it, but not Anime Studio. I have the most recent drivers installed and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue.

Perhaps the pressure sensitivity function only works with Wacom tablets? I know that what I have is really cheap but it works really well in every other program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you that the pencil tool pressure sensitivity feature works with a Wacom Intuos 3. I have never found a good use for the pencil tool in Anime Studio yet though.
As to why yours does not work, I'm sorry but I have no idea.

Are you sure you have that option turned on in AS (under Freehand options, for example)?

Yes, I have the option turned on under the Freehand options tab. I usually get around the lack of pressure sensitivity by using a largish brush and turning on the "taper" option. In some cases, this actually gives a very nice effect, but I''d still like to get this function working properly.

BTW, I'm on an EEEPC 901 HA, so the tablet connects via USB.
