There are two issues that happen when a file Anime Studio works with contains non-English letters in filename or path (Russian in my case, I’m not sure for other languages though):
- Audio file cannot be imported.
- Export to SWF and MOV behaves unexpectedly.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new folder, rename it to “Новая папка” – it’s default “New folder” in Russian Windows XP
2. Put a good sound file to that folder
3. Import this file to Anime Studio
4. Error message appears
Now for the export:
5. Create any animation longer than 2 frames
6. Export it in SWF or MOV format to “Новая папка” directory
7. For SWF – progress bar indicates that export is ok, but no file is being created. For MOV – render window appears with first frame, than closes.
I understand that Anime Studio is an English-language program, but since there were no such issues in version 5.5, I consider this a bug.
And it also would be great to see a solution for non-English keyboard input for “Insert Text” tool, covered in this thread. Maybe it’s related to this bug?
