How do you switch body angles or positions?

How do you switch body angles or shapes w/bones. For exmple, how would I animate/change a bitmapped character to different views/positions (front to side view, etc,)? I want my character to start running from side view to dancing in front view. Thank you.

Well, one has to create independent different views (front, side, back, or more)

Using images, create them in Photoshop (or else), or using Vectors, draw them
directly in Anime Studio.

Then use a “Switch Layer” to change the views...

If you like, here is a short video-demonstration:

(no sound, it’s all fairly self-explanatory)

Turns are quite the challenge if you aim for full reality.

This topic comes up a lot and it would be worth your while to do a forum search on this. There are lots of different approaches - switches just being one.

There are times when a slow, smooth transition is the only thing that will really work but that requires moving a lot of points - to say nothing of artistry. My animation maxim is that it only has to be believable. Does it say orf do what I want it to? Never mind if it breaks natural laws.
