Adobe Illustrator LIVE-TRACE?

Post by Mikdog »

Ahoy,

I've designed this skateboard deck but I drew it in Photoshop @ 72dpi instead of 200dpi, so the company can't use it.

Would Adobe's LIVE-TRACE work in turning this into vector? I don't have the program, but would someone who has a legit copy of the program perhaps care to help me out?

Thanks. I can send you the hi-res raster file if you get hold of me on this topic or PM me.

I have Vector magic which is much better than adobe Adobe's and Corel's tracing. Anyway, you will never obtain the exact design you want and there will be a lot more shapes than a human would draw, most if it is a complex draw like this. But we can try, if you want

Thanks Selgin. Yep, didn't get your PM's.

Anyways, I'm sending the pic now through email. Hopefully your account will accept a +-4MB file. Cool! I tried out the online version on Vector Magic. Looks pretty good!

Let me know if Vector Magic doesn't work out. I ran Live Trace on the low res image that you posted here, and the results were very good. I'm sure with a hi res version we could get something usable. Here is the Live Trace version:

!

That looks awesome b15fliptop!

I'm gonna PM you and ask for your email. If you could do this for me, you'd be doing me a huge favour. Not sure if these PM's are working, so here's my email address

!@#$%^kiffness!@#$%^ ^%^%^%---at---&^&^&^ gmail.com

Just take out all the random symbols please. I'm petrified of spam.

Thanks! Looks great! Yay! Maybe I can get this made after all!

Happy to help!

Although, you delayed my animation for the week. Both of my fans are gonna be pissed if the new episode isn't up on Monday.

Which Adobe would work best for custom invitations? I have Photoshop elements 5.0 and looking to upgrade. I've been making custom party invitations for my family and now i'm looking to start a small side business. Sometimes i'll use photos in the invite and other times it's just a custom design. I also do party favor tags and labels. There are so many Adobe programs and i'm not really sure which would work best. I'm pretty computer savvy and a fast learner. What do you recommend?
