Animation newbie becoming an addict - samples included..

Post by rdstreets »

Hi Guys!

I've doodled cartoons ever since I was in elementary school (70s). Being able to create animated cartoons at that time of course was only a pipe dream.

I downloaded the basic version of AS on a lark and got to work over the past few weeks trying to get up to speed with the basic elements of the software.

Fun... 8)

Anyway, here are a few links to some very short animations centered around a character I've been experimenting with called "Losamon".

A few of the audio samples come from Monty Burns (Simpsons).... Still trying to settle on a "voice" for this guy.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Hey there! I like your character. And the scene with him walking through the city is very nice. I can't really see his feet and legs very well to notice the details of the walk cycle, but it gives a very convincing feeling of walking. And the ambiance and the things he's saying seem very appropriate for a guy just getting off from work! Nice job. :D

Here's a sunset version which should make the leg movement a bit more visible. It's a bit choppy but I'm sure with further refinement to the switch images I can smooth out the old man's shuffle. Cheers!
