There was a transition to Smith-Micro recently (in the last month or so) and many of the bugs are still being worked out in terms of support and sales. They definitely still want to sell AS, though, and it shouldn't affect your usage of it (although many of us are indeed interested in seeing any new releases).

Poser went through similar transitions, many, many times (and, now with Smith-Micro, yet once again). It's still around, still getting new releases, and still supported, so I have no doubt the same will be true of AS.

Well, I got it, but only because I've learned how to be a real nuisance in life...

Initial attempts through email got the "they handle it... no they handle it.. no they really handle it" response. So then I went the phone route, which took a couple transfers, and then finally got hold of someone.

Seems that the IP I logged in through is not seen as being in the US. I've had this problem a couple times before where places use an IP check service but don't refresh their maps very often (evidently in the last 3 months in this case). So my order would have remained in limbo for a few days, and then been dropped if I hadn't called.

Just to save someone else some grief...

Back to the topic of this thread, I did ask (since I was already on the phone) about 5.6, and it isn't officially released (according to the rep), but will be announced in a newsletter mailing when it is.
