Hi! As I said, I can't really see the blurring on these samples but I scaled these down. And yes, I am exporting out as a png. Part of the problem is I am doing a lot of dynamic camera work (lots of zooming, panning etc) and keeping the stars scaled back enough so you don't see the pixelation or blurring(or at least very little of it) is a challenge I am trying to overcome at the moment.

But I do think this is good enough. And the great news is that last night the whole animation (4 minutes worth) rendered in about 2 hours. A single preview renders in less than a minute. Which means I am working again! (as opposed to sitting around waiting for renders).

So you guys have been a tremendous help, I appreciate you giving your time to us newbies! Thanks!

Aha! Okay, now I see. If you are zooming the camera then yes, that would decrease the resolution of the stars image. I think you found the solution with a much larger image.

You could actually set the star image layer to "ignore camera movement". This would prevent the star image from changing at all.

From a "space" perspective this would be visually correct. Say you walked into the command deck of a ship with a huge window into space... the stars would not "get bigger" as you walked closer to the window. The stars are so far away their visual size wouldn't change from the teeny tiny movement of the viewer towards the window. Instead the viewable area of the stars would expand as the window "got bigger". Having the stars ignore camera movement would keep the star image the same size, preventing the pixelation from scaling, and actually look more accurate. If the stars image got larger as the camera zoomed in it would look like a "flat" image of stars stuck to the window.

Just a thought.

I agree except for this video, the star movement creates a flow that's really nice. More effect than realism. And it's a music video so some psychedelic effects are nice.

Thanks again for your help!
