Yes, it can get real expensive real fast and the RL store is asking top dollar for their content. Of course on the other hand you aren't spending anytime creating any content so you have to factor that into the equation too. I think the iClone option is ridiculously overpriced both for the software and content and the final output is poor at best. I would definitely go with either Poser or Daz Studio here.

And here is where they say exactly what you said in no uncertain terms...

I love how the video refers to "tons of content", when in fact there really isn't that much especially when it comes to building new characters. Even with two add-on content packs, the muth selection is horrifically small, as well as noses. It's fun to mess around with, especially with 3D motions, but I get much more self satisfaction out of using Anime Studio Pro than I do CrazyTalk Animator 2. It's just too cookie cutter for my tastes.

Yeah, like "tons of characters" and they show there are six.

This may be off topic but thought it might be interesting.

Years ago I bought an app that was the same as the one used by police sketch artists when getting witnesses to identify someone.

It had... I'm not sure... 100's? 1000's? of combinations of eyes, mouths head shapes hair, etc... practically unlimited. You could also change each feature with scaling and translation. If you clicked the random generator you never saw the same face twice. They also included presets for "celebrities" that was very funny but extremely accurate. You really could create a likeness of anyone.

I used this as a reference to draw "unique" characters. The licensing agreement didn't allow use of the generated images straight out of the app, so I used it more like an artists manikin for faces. It was a great way to see surprising and unique faces as an inspiration.

This was a really old app that no longer runs on current systems. Haven't used it in 10+ years, but it was pretty cool.

I had something called Let's Draw, and it was a software program for making caricatures. It too had 100's if not 1000's of different elements for combining together. You could practically make anybody with it. Alas, it's gone by the wayside and doesn't work on current computers.
