Hm, I doubt that this is the problem - I rendered in H264 - half size.
But as well I rendered stillframes - and they look crappy as well.
It just keeps on flickering.
I really don't know where this is coming from. :/

well - agreeing with SlowTiger, I can't find any real issues with individual frame renders*, and when I export a PNG sequence and stick that into Premiere all appears just fine - I did match the render output to the input format (which you've now changed to 720p?) and chose WMV ... so what are the render options you're using?
* there is some (expected!?!) blurring in the very fast movement, but that goes away when slowing down the action; and (of course) using the "magnify" feature on viewing the render produces the expected jaggies...

I export frames for example as .png - and then I can already see in PS that these jagged outlines and the pixeling are there.
It just get rendered that way.
I changed it to 720p because it's just the same as with 1080p...(the files are just a little bit smaller).
It just looks crappy as in my preview-videos... white pixels plopping up and it's just not smooth.
I'm asking myself if this is a problem with Mac or so... because - despite I've another computer now - it has been always like this - but I've always been working on a mac.
How do the videos look if you render them with a small(very small) scaled logo?
Could you maybe upload a video?
Then I could see if you render it - but don't change anything in the file - if this is a problem with my machine...

Ok, thank you a lot!
It definately doesn't look like your rendered clip if I render it. :/
(I did a PNG-codec-Test as well)

done a bit more digging on the h264 codec... there have been various issues raised on this on both Mac and Win platforms. Possibly a good way out of this is not to use AS as the final production software, but render out a lossless image sequence and put that through a compositor?

Hey,
yes, normally I'm doing this already. As long as I don't use imported images everything is fine.
I really don't know where this jaggy issue comes from in my scenes... :/ *sigh*
I mean - it has been the same problem in my older project I linked before.
It is very very strange - and sad, because probably so I will never be able to use images to animate.
(Or I have always to have them in the exact size I need them without scaling...)

I often use .PNGs just as I've described (generally in the 2000-4000 px range for the shortest side - and then scaled down in AS) - I've never noticed the sort of degradation as in the h264 example from slowtiger ... but I rarely use h264!

I really don't know what the problem is.
Here another Test - this time I rendered it with the PNG-codec.
OriginalSize:
Scaled a little bit.
Scaled further.
And a video:
Still jaggy and crappy
Better 'quality' for download here:
http://we.tl/04c9dpbnVb
Here is the scene - would be cool, if you could render it and upload it for me - so I can compare the output:
http://we.tl/49IWhHxoXJ
(Maybe as well on wetransfer - so I get the original quality)
So - why does it look so shitty if I scale it. I mean - the resolution is really pretty big... everything should be sharp, shouldn't it?...

This (heavily edited) from another discussion elsewhere:
There is a difference between Mac and Windows because AS uses different media libraries to encode H.264: AV Foundation on Mac and Media Foundation on Windows. The APIs are different - the way AS uses them could be better: resolution problems are acknowledged and are to be addressed.
As I said, I never use AS to export anything other than lossless for final production. I haven't looked into the codecs that my compositor uses (there's never been any issues there) but I will do when I have time to spare.
I'll run your file through my pipeline... but the .mov you sent uses a different .PNG from that uploaded with the AS file (the upload has a file called "test" and the AS file references "test2").
I loaded the .mov into premiere and went through it frame by frame... the thing that struck me was when I was scrubbing quickly along the timeline the *displayed* resolution was way lower than when I stayed on a single frame -- IOW is what you're seeing related not so much to what's in the file but to the ability of your system (monitor / monitor driver / ...) to display the contents??

Damm it!
Sorry - here's the correct png:
http://we.tl/BxIk5xE7Pi
Yes, I export losless as well for the final production.
(And put it in another Comp-program)
I think Premiere needs sometimes a little bit to show the correct resolution(if you have 100% quality) - and for scrubbing it scales often down the quality, so that it could be faster.
Hm...
I could try to render this in Bootcamp maybe... - but I think, I tried that before a while ago with another file.
So - if you could please render the File with the new picture - I could compare it 1:1 - if it looks fine at your computer - and at mine not - then it is a hardware issue... .

Thank you so much!

Oh, okay, I see - there are jagged outlines as well(visible at the endframe for example) - so - maybe I just really see that on my machine...(?)...
Do you see the pixelated outline as well?
(And that as soon as it moves in a small scale white pixels sometimes appear, sometimes not)

I don't get it.
Rendered with your test file as Quicktime with PNG codec and got a perfect result.
What you see in 1j22pe.png are sharpening artefacts. You seem to use a codec which either has an option for this: so switch it off - or it does add this automatically - so use a different codec.

same here -- nothing evidently wrong with what I see... here are the individual frames:
