OK good to know its reported. I ended up using a mask to crop.
In this case there were several separate image pieces influenced by the same mesh - so it wasn't workable to crop using the mesh boundary. Truth be told, even if it was just a single image/piece in the mesh - I generally have 'wiggle' room around the border of the source image.
