We posted a new video today...

Apple Cat is an animated short film created as an example for a tutorial video about, um, creating an animated short film. This short was almost entirely created in Moho Pro 14.2...including the storyboard and animatic!

Watch for Let's Make A Cartoon! Apple Cat BTS & Tutorial next time on the Little Green Dog Channel!

For this edition, we remastered the sound and picture quality to commemorate the launch of our Little Green Dog channel on YouTube. You can watch it here...

Man, I can't believe it's been 10 years since we made Scareplane. As some here know, the original version was our first animation created with Moho, or what was then called Anime Studio 9.5.

I can honestly say that Moho and Scareplane changed the course of my career!

I never saw this one before but it's adorable how it's just make believe. It had such a cute playful feel!

Thanks, NanotechBeasts!

Scareplane was fun to make, and it had a deeper purpose for me too. At the time, I was working insane hours creating VFX for movies and TV, and I needed a diversion to keep my sanity. I saw Mike demonstrate Smart Bones for Anime Studio 9.5 (what would later become Moho...again,) and decided that was it. To learn ASP/Moho as quickly as possible, I storyboarded each shot in Scareplane to test a different feature in the program. And it paid off because creating Scareplane changed my career path for the next 10 years, working in cartoon animation...which I really love doing!

The characters in Scareplane are from a comic-strip I was drawing at the time, based on our two cats and our child when they were still a toddler. I'm planning to bring them back in more Moho animations after I get this batch of tutorial videos I've been working on uploaded to our channel.

The first tutorial video is coming out any day now, and a new tutorial video will roll out every week or so after. This first one unexpectedly blew up into an 'epic' project and took forever to finish. My producer says I need to knock it off and start cranking out more 'normal' tutorial videos. Tip: Never argue with your producer...especially when you're married to her.

Well it was just adorable! I am in the middle of considering another career change myself. Not really sure where I am going though.

That was fantastic, Dennis! I love how clear and well structured the tutorial is.
This is one of the hardest topics to teach, at least in my experience, and you tutorial covers everything flawlessly.

Well done.

Funny, after reading your posts for years, I never realized you were a cartoon. Now it makes sense, why you know so much about animation.
