there appears to be three arm positions with the distance between the arm forward and middle is greater than the mid to back. so when it cycles it seems to me to snap forward and back.

Here are 2 examples of the robot legs. Both are very crude and only took a few minutes to make. One is done using only AS7 and the other is done in wings 3d and then imported into AS7 and animated. I have a much more complex robot I am doing but I messed up on the way I made it and can not add bones to it.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I'm working on the arms. Arms are tough for me...

Cool 3d legs, Sbtamu! You were able to put bones on those 3d objects? The bones have to stay in one 2d plane, right?

Yes I used bones and you can move bones around in 3d also. The trick is to have lots of bone layers. The robot I am doing now has 5 bone layers, one for each leg/arm and one for the body and head. Than you put those into a group layer and use that group layer to use the 3D space.
edit
Here is a simple view. What I did was make a group layer and added a bone layer in it. Then I made the 6 shapes for the leg in the bone layer 3 rectangles and 3 circles and bound the points just like normal. Next, I duplicated that layer for the other lag. Now all you do is change all to 3D and set one leg, via the layer translate tool, to a neg Z value and the other leg to its + opposite. meanwhile have the set origin for the group layer centered between the legs.

Here is another rushed render. rendering 3D takes way to long... I might just go with 2D on this idea...

Howdy everyone
Well it took me WAY too long to get motivated again, but just so I'm being active on the forum here's a few characters I done a while back. Sheesh, I can't believe long it's been since I've done some real drawing, or anywhere near a completed drawing.
Anyhoo! Just wanted to get involved. I will be posing a short in a week or two, and will be getting a WIP setup today.
Character concepts - Gringo, Evil Armoured Sorcerer, Spiked Slave Mummy
EDIT: I made a post with WIP here

Thanks jahnocli! I drew him for a birthday invite

I'd really like to animate him one day, it will happen!
EDIT: I'll dig up the original file and post a larger image of the Gringo

Very nice! But try and post a small animation clip opposed to just images. I'd love to see those characters rigged!
