Anyone see that bones are coming to Flash? I see that one company has already developed a bones plug-in for Flash for $29.

KoolMoves.com has had bones for years but they still need work. After AS3 is done, I believe they will be improved. ;)

Didn't see anything about bones on their website but than again I didn't dig too hard either. How does it compare to SWiSH Max? Here is a link to the bones plug in I talked about. The developer said he thought it should work with SWiSH Max but recommended that you try it out with the demo first.

The only thing I saw about bones in flash was a video shot during a tech show. Adobe was showing off new features "planned" for flash. Bones was one of them along with improved real time editing.

The one big thing about bones in flash, more important than just bones for character animation, is that the bones are part of the "real time" play back in flash player. You could drag and manipulate the bones with the player. I may be wrong but this seems to go beyond the plug in type bones. Are the plug in bones "clickable" in the player? Can they be accessed or scripted? In the demo video they showed a mechanical spider image puppet type thing with bones on the legs. They loaded the swf and rotated the legs in the player.

This could prove to be exciting way down the road with future versions of AS. If the bone animation could be exported from AS to SWF. That's way off in the future though.

Hummm...direct manipulation within the player. Sounds like there is going to be a new type of player coming down the pike.
