constraining circles when adding points

One uses the key-board to constrain a shape to remain a circle
when initially drawing out a circle.

SO when adding points to a perfect circle or elipse is there any way to
constrain the shape inorder to maintain the perfect form????

what is happening is, that every time a point is added to a four point
circle or elipse it jumps all wacked-out-of-shape; and then a lot of
points have to be added to be able to force it back into the semblence
of a perfect circle or elipse.

is not there a better way to constrain a shape when adding points?

A perfect circle in AS is different from other vector based drawing programs. There is no way to "constrain" a circle when adding points by hand. You can however use the "Scripts/Draw/Split curves" script to add points evenly to a circle.

Yes, adding more points than you think are needed is probably the best option in some cases.

AS does not have bezier curves like Adobe Illustrator. They work differently. You have to learn to work with them and get use to them.

Once you get use to the behavior of the curves in AS you can draw nearly anything. I say this from experience. Just keep in mind this is the way the program works. With some tweaking of the point curves and position you can get the shape the way you like it.

OK i will adapt to the program.

with Eggman - how did he keep such a perfect form?

went into the program files : C:/P.F/ef./AS/Scripts/tool ????

on the tool bar in the open program in the "draw" drop down menu
there is:
Insert Text [highlighted dark]
[all the rest always pale gray]
raise shape
lower "
" to front
" back
reset point
" all "s

i like being able to slide a point up and down a line rather than only
being able to contend with beizer curves. it makes many tasks much
more direct.
can not find "split curves"?

At the top of the work area, you need to go to the 'script' drop down menu, then 'draw', and 'split curve'.
