Control Animation Curves...

Is there a way to control the animation curves in the Graph Mode? I understand that there are no Bezier Curves in AS, but is there any other way to control the curves other than the preset options(EaseIn/Out, etc).

In the time line where you see GRAPH MODE activate the drop down by clicking the little arrow and check
enable graph mode." La voila."
Then take a while checking out the coloured lines that correspond to the selected layer properties on the left. Be patient with this part.

controling the actual curves...

Thanks for your response, chucky, but that didn't answer my question. I know how to show the curves.
I wanted to know if there was a way to actually control the tangents of the curve instead of the preset "Ease In/Out, Smooth, Linear, Step Cycle, etc". Can I manually control the angle of the curve in any way?

No not at this time. Currently the animation curves are the same as mesh curves. The biases are not editable.

what's the point of having curves?

With curves you can have in a visual way all the animation without need to play it. You can move the keyframes of individual channels (for example only the X position) without interfere with others. Also you can tweak your animation in a better way to produce some physic behaviour. Think on simulate the bounces of a ball. You can better see all the Y position in one shot and produce a more realistic bounce and a more accurate of the high reduction (due by not full elasticity) in an easy way using the graphic mode.
Graph Mode is an illusion

you are still just editing key frames. you are not actually editing the curves. you really don't have any control over the curves.
For example, If you pick a linear curve for your animation curve option it makes the curve to the RIGHT of the key frame a linear curve, not the current key. What if I want one key to be linear but the next key to be smooth? I can't do it becuase if I select smooth for my next key frame it only smooths the curve to the RIGHT(again). If I want to accomplish this I have to fake tangents and 'bracket' key around my main keyframe. Then adjust the 'bracket' keys to the positions that I want them.
Yes, the Graph Mode helps you visually adjust the keys, but don't be fooled, it does not give you any greater control of an animation.
If you're talking about just doing a ball bounce you can do that just as easy visually without the curves.

It is not a total control but you can have linear in the left and smooth/ease on the right.
Regarding to the use of graph or not for visualize your animation is a question of taste. If you prefer to not use graph don't use it. I think there are others that would pay for it as it is now. BTW graph is only at AS
PRO feature.

The graph is not for additional editing purposes. It is only a different way to view the key frames. As Genete said, by seeing motion curves you can visualize the motion in a new way and make changes based on the graph.
Many animators like being able to see the arcs and curves of the motion. Yes, it would be better to be able to edit the bias of those curves but we can't. That is why I never bothered using the graph mode until recently and can see the benefits of it.
