Upgrading from 5.5 to 5.6 without bloatware

Hi,

I have Anime Studio Pro 5.5 for Mac.

I'm keen to upgrade to the 5.6 version (its a free upgrade) but 200MB?! C'mon!

One kind forum member sent me a stripped down version of the 5.5 installer that was about 10MB. Please note I have a legal serial number.

So now that I want 5.6 its 200MB?! No ways!

All I want is the feature to animate layer orders. S'all.

Is there any way I can do this without having to get the full 200MB download? I pay per MB, its hellishly expensive.

Thanks for your help ;)

Mike

Hi Mikdog....do you have to pay to upload your animations, (which I enjoy immensly), to youtube as well? That sounds like a terrible ISP deal you have got there...very sorry mate. Wish I could help.

Hey DK.

Yep, I gotta pay to upload videos. Costs between R1 and R2 per MB, which translates to about $0.20 per MB. South Africa's apparently still has the most expensive Internet prices. Contracts are pretty expensive and you either have to buy the specialized equipment up-front which is pretty pricey, or you pay for it over a year or two and get locked into a vampirish contract, so I buy data packages with my cellphone. I'd dig to check people's videos online but I'd use up all my data. Don't have images turned on in my browser either.

Anyways, if someone puts up a link to a stripped down version devoid of bloatware, you would be my hero forever ;)

Hey Mikdog.
Maybe it's worth sending a note to Mike about your predicament?

Hi DK,

Thanks. I contacted Smith-Micro and they solved my problem even better than I had hoped for:

viewtopic.php?t=10914&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=18

I downloaded the small fix for 5.6, and the app worked like a charm.

Only 4MB or so!

Thank you Smith-Micro for getting on my problem and solving it on the same day ;)

I'm very happy. Now I can animate layer ordering!

Happiness.
