i think he's suggesting having a console where you can programmatically asign names and do other things... although i really dont see the point unless i've missed something... animation is a visual art!
Wouldn't it be cool if ASP could be programmed?

Hello. I am a windows programmer... I program in windows!
I think it would be cool if ASP could be coded.. Like a counsel...
Like.. To make an object the code could be...
object1.creat.shape=circle..
Or maybe layer1.name="eyes"
IDK.. Just a thought...
Who else would like that?

AS has a scripting language. It uses lua. You can do all those things but not exactly in the way you describe. AS uses lua scripts for all the tools and buttons. With tools and button scripts you can create layers, shapes etc. You can also create layer scripts to control objects on layers, like bones and vectors.
Is this sort of what you mean?
