I am not getting the regular orange highlight that's indicates a new posts on the forum, also I am not getting email alerts for some of my favourite topics.
Anyone know what's going on? Am I responsible for this, and how do I fix it?

Not alone. Sometimes the General Anime Studio Discussion forum shows me orange marks when watched from outside, still showing marks when enter in the forum but all they are lost when enter in a particular thread. All the other forums worked right.

Thanks Genete, it is strange, I have the red alerts now, they must get shy sometimes.

Check if you are logged in - sometimes I get logged out and wonder why there's no new posts then.

Thanks Slowtiger, that is definitely the first thing I check.

I think it might have to do with the time or date. I've seen the new post highlighting "vanish" while reading a post and going back to the home page. I noticed this happens "late at night" so I assume possibly the forum does some routine maintenance or updating of some kind. Just guessing.

Do you not simply click on "Show Posts Since Last Visit"?

I find that's all I need to do once or twice a day -- it's really simple to see what you haven't seen yet.

Thanks everyone, I think Vern might have the answer, it would definitely explain the on and off nature of this phenomenon.

This happens to me on the Hash, Animation Master forum as well... but only late at night. I think it IS my cookie for the site. I think it "resets" at either midnight or sometime around there based on my system time. If you never click on one specific new post eventually the highlighting will go away.

I get so sad when i see all those "new posts" and then they disappear... I know I'm missing something really exciting.
