DYNAMIC presets and library

 Save dynamics presets, dynamics library.
This would help in 4 ways,

1- simplify learning curve of setting ratios for various good dynamics simulations.
2- store the settings when we finally get them right.
3- share libraries of dynamics.
4- speed up process for more elaborate set ups

That's a good idea.

The only problem is that the dynamic settings are very dependant on how much and how vigorous the motion of the parent bone. Even just adding a slightly more sudden stop to a parent's motion can cause good, working dynamics to be far too exaggerated. Even with a good angle constraint, it can cause a mean shudder.

I use dynamics all the time, and their responsiveness is what is so good about them, there is so much available variety from those few inputs.
It does take a while to get the right combinations for the right application, that's why saved presets would be so great.
For example,
slow spring gentle velocity.
stiff spring for sharp stops.
wobbley dampen for follow objects.
Floppy spring 1 feather
Floppy spring 2 medium hair

etc. etc.....

Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a good idea. Would save some time fiddling around with 'standard' movements.

If I ever get my own "custom" scripted physics finished it will have "presets" that can be saved... <sigh> if only I could be cloned. ;)

I definitely second a feature request to clone Vern.

Copy/Paste dynamic settings would be good too.

The more hair I do the more I'm dealing with chains of bones,
manually putting in settings per bone.

Sure the bone constraints panel stays open,
but making changes to each bone
... well I don't need to tell you guys, do I. :D

You may know this, but you can select multiple bones and change all of there dynamics (and other constraint) settings all at once.

aaaaAAAAAAAAARRGH!!!

excuse me.

I didn't know that. :D

Doh!

I'm glad I thought to mentioned it. That would be a lot of work.

Sorry Mad, didn't I tell you that one?
But, seriously careful with that shift key, it is easy...too easy to accidentally change carefully prepared settings if you let that cursor wander to the wrong bone with that ol' shift down.
