I just bought AS 5 for my 16th birthday, and after getting frustrated by typing my serial number over and over, i looked at the top of it and it said
"Anime Studio Pro 5 Hybrid serial"
Or something like that

They mislabeled them!! What do i do now?

You email them.
The email is on the cd cover along with the serial (correct or incorrect)
I had a similar issue and found smith micro to be very supportive.

Just stay patient and work through it with them.
They might request photos of the disc,
or a copy of the invoice email
whatever, just follow their requests until it works

'Hybrid' simply means that it can be installed on Mac, PC, or Linux. Check whether you are typing zeros or Os.

Also, if you'd bother to search the forum first, you'd have found all of this advice for yourself.
