What do you think of this? It is cutouts of crude drawings animated in a deliberately amateurish way, yet with all the candy (pans, 3D) of expensive production. I'm undecided. I doin't like parts like the bike rider: was it too much work to animate his feet in a real circle instead of that stupid up-and-down?
Anyway, the character made up from words is a nice one. Motiongraphics meets character animation.

This would be possible in AS if only there was some kind of 3D lighting. I've done some tests simulating quasi-3D, and you kind of need the shadow effect to simulate it properly. Anyway, nice stuff.

Reminds me of a Playstation game called Parappa the Rapper. Always wanted to animate something in this style:
