hi everyone,

i want to buy a good book on the basics of animation.
i want it to be a good reference book
(something that i will not outgrow soon)
that will go into the basics of movement and things like storyboarding, character designing, animating in 1/2/3 etc.

i can spare about 40 US$

it should be available in the US now, i have a friend coming in December.

any titles that you recommend?

"The Animators Survival Kit" by Richard Williams. Should be within your price range, and it is worth every penny.

Yep, you have to have this book.

You will never outgrow it, and the first few times you read it you probably won't be able to grasp much of what is written (but you WILL get some thing from it each and every time you go through it). No animator can be without this one, so it should at least start your library off.
