Bone angle controlling switch layer

Hello, I'm just doing some work on Anime Studio and I was wondering something; maybe this exists in a hidden way but I don't know how to do.

If that does not exist, it should be a really great feature to make more complex animations easily :

For example; I have a switch layer containing all the frames of my eye closing. It's an image sequence, let's say I have 3 differents images.

Then I bind it to a little "controller" bone.
When I change the angle of that bone; the switch layer changes its image automatically :

Image

It would be really cool !!!

The problems I see is that something should be done to make Anime Studio choose the right frame (for example; guessing which image to show using the number of images and the degrees of the angle; or a timeline of 360 frames for the switch layer, each frame is an angle degree...)

Also, there should be a way to use different images if the angle degrees are decreasing or increasing (opening and closing of the eye could be different).

...

I think we should talk about that but i'm sure this could be very handy !

it's not actually the same, but is pretty similar
poses in AS

Yeah this is on my (and perhaps others) scripting to do list. If it's added as a new feature first, that would be great as well.

ok, here is what I refer
look at this flash

using the poses script I can move a bone around three or more different positions represented by 3 bones (open, middle and closed eyes). for more information take a look to the thread I post above. The mayor goal is you can blend the poses the ways you want and get results that by hand would be almost impossible.

here is the anme file(you must uncompress the folder)

Nice example Selgin, but he mentions working with image sequence. But perhaps you could use pose array for the switch layer.

 my reading understanding again...

Hi.

Forgive me if I am I missing the point but isn't it just as easy to right click on the switch layer and add your switch keyframes rather than go to the effort of using a bone switch method? What I normally do is have a set of switch keyframes for eye blinking siting on the timeline that I copy/paste wherever I need them.

DK,

It all depends on how you like to animate with AS. I tried creating a script to control switch layers with a bone. The reason for this is to eliminate any need to do any animation other than bone animation. Never having to check other channels, layers etc. keeping all motion on the bone layer.

I think this could a good one, I think it compliments the poses idea very well.
Even if poses could manage switches and or vector morphs in the same group layer.
Yup I'm just being greedy now.
