export to flash

after exporting to flash.
if i try to open the swf file
illustrator opens and says this is not a
readable file? why does illustrator open
instead of the flash player.i am a mac user
i do have flash onboard.

For some reason, Illustrator is associated with SWF files on your computer. To change this, right-click (or Ctrl-click) the SWF file. In the popup menu, choose Open With->Other... In the Choose Application dialog that comes up, pick the Flash player and be sure to turn on the "Always Open With" checkbox.
That should re-associate SWF files with the Flash player.

why on my initial export to flash does illustrator
open.?

I can't say for sure - maybe when Illustrator was installed, it associated itself with SWF files, although I'm not sure why it would do that.

Right-click the file >> Get Info >> Opens With
Choose Application
Check "Change All" if you want to apply globally.
