HELLO

Program: Anime Studio 5.5
I recently bought this program and i installed it on my laptop with no problem at all, but when i go to load the program, nothing appears. When i hit crtl alt delete, i can see in the program box that the anime studio program is running, but i don't see it loaded on my screen.

Can someone please explain to me what is going on with this problem and how do i fix it

Windows 98?

First guess it is the OS not the application. I don't even know if Anime Studio would be supported on windows 98.
System requirements

Windows

* Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2 or higher), Windows XP Home/Professional/Tablet PC Edition, Vista
* 500 MHz Intel Pentium or equivalent Processor minimum
* 256 MB RAM minimum
* 100 MB free hard disk space minimum
* 16 bit color (65,536 colors) display or above 1024x768 resolution
* CD-ROM (for physical version of application)

Run anime in compatibility mode - Window 2000 or higher.

Although you may need a sonic screwdriver to fix that . :P

So both of these kind folks are kind of dancing around the point -- which is to switch your OS.

Seriously -- no one runs Win '98 anymore. No one, not even my mom (who is in her 80's. She won't switch to Vista, but loves her some XP). MS stopped supporting Win '98, oh, about five years ago, I think. Folks stopping writing software for it at least that long ago, maybe longer.

The good news is your laptop will probably run XP just fine (not Vista, but that's a Good Thing). You'll be MUCH happier.

There could be some confusion about this depending on where you buy it.

Amazon has links selling AS pro and standard incorrectly listing win 98 in the system requirements. The Smith Micro site does not list 98 as supported. However I can't say for sure this was not changed recently or not. I would assume the distributor knows what is supported.

Also I have no idea how Amazon handles that sort of thing. Who is responsible for the mistake if a purchaser is upset?

Makes me question Amazon's... uh... thoroughness. They also list ASP as being an Adobe product.

I just logged onto Amazon and used their product info changing function. I listed the info from SM as the source so hopefully they will fix this.

Amazon sucks. Those guys are losers if that's the best they can do to keep their product info up to date. What a freaking joke.
