Render at double dimensions

I've never used "render to half dimensions" when exporting animations but I've often wished there was a checkbox to do the reverse.

I guess this would be really simple to implement and yet it would make life a little easier for me.

Why not just double your usual render dimensions and then you may actually use 'render at half dimensions'. Just a thought.

Well, I constantly preview frames using CTRL+R with a smaller resolution that fits my screen and then when it's time to render out I enter the bigger, final resolution.

Of course I could live without this feature I just thought it would be nice to have and would be simple to implement since there already is a render to half dimensions feature.

I think it should be smarter to have a text box to input the % size in the final render. I never have had problems with this, but I suppose it would be useful. If you want 200%, 50%, 30%, 100%, 1000%, etc, just write it.

Oh now I see. Yeah it would be helpful if there were perhaps separate settings for the render, export and maybe preview (F5).

As a workaround, you might try this. Leave your dimensions at your intended export size. Use ctrl+left click, in the blue part of the timeline, to set start and ctrl+right click to set end, and use preview (F5).

Your quicktime player should be a fine size for your screen.

May be more trouble than it's worth though.

I read somewhere Mike is thinking in apply the export settings to the render window, this would solve your problem... but in a future version of AS.
