I am working on a webpage and uploaded a swf file from AS. After uploading, the image came thorugh well, but the action occurred once and then was static (gecko is waving, after intial wave, gecko is just sitting there). What can I do to make it loop back and keep waving.
Thanks

You need to import te swf into Flash and make it a looped swf.

Also in the render select extra swf frame that will make it loop, sometimes with a white frame though, |I forget how to stop that from happening. I think I have figured that out in the past.
Maybe we need a sticky for exporting swfs, there a lot of common questions on this topic.
here's an swf I made last night, breaking a lot of the export rules btw like variable line width and point animation( those limbs are made as single lines without fills).

Nice one Chucky. That reminds me of a question I've been wanting to ask.
Is there a way of masking swf output do that it doesn't export objects that run outside the main screen?
Cheers

I see , I hadn't noticed pootermouse's cable extending past the scene there, whoops
Yeah that's a curly old one too.
If you need a quick and dirty mask , just make a frame shape larger than the off screen shapes on a new layer, I normally make this white or black.
This frame will show but at least it cuts out those unwanted off screen items, cleanly.
Otherwise you'll have to take into flash, I use swishmax as a cheap ( and belligerent) alternative for this process.
I hope the swf export gets better and better for ASPRO- it is a worthy feature.

This is interesting.
I just uploaded a webpage with an swf file embedded. I exported the swf raw without adding the extra frame and it is looping in my browser. Can anyone else see it looping?

If that's the case, you dont need Flash to make it loop but there could be a setting in kfried27's browser or in Flash player that needs to be checked to make raw AS swf's loop.

Hi Chucky.
I wish that would work but AS masking won't export to swf's

Maybe in the next version.

It works fine in firefox too.
I've re-rendered the mouse with no extra frame.
But it doesn't seem to loop.
The mystery deepens.........

yeah its not actually a mask but a shape on a layer, A rectangle with a hole in it.
It does render but as I said quick and dirty makes a frame around the anim with the colour of your choice, just to hide any dodgy extras hanging out in the wind.

Hey Chucky....that works fine
Just noticed, there IS a setting in Flash Player that you need to check to make swf's loop. Open a swf file then select the Control menu. You will see a Loop setting ther. Check it and see if your swf file online starts looping for you.

Hmmmm, already set to loop, makes no difference without that extra frame

It has to be a setting in the browser somewhere that is not looping those animations....I can't think where it would be though.

It must be after editing in flash or swish to make the clean no white frame loop.... must be.
EDIT, nope , I found an old swf I did that never went to flash, looping cleanly.
WEIRD.
I think it may have had to do with where the loop start and ends, odd or even frames, something buggy and strange like that, I wish I'd written it down cos I'm opening old files and can't get the same result.

Ok...Googled the original prob:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right clcik on the flash animation in your browser. Make sure your Flash Player settings for your browser is set to loop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If that does'nt work download the latest version of Flash Player. That's all the info I could find outside of having to code it to loop in Flash itself.
