I made a similar piece to this, and a friend suggested I use it as my logo for future short films, so I redid it using a new, higher res photo of myself and more layers/movment. Credit my girlfriend for the photo and photoshop work.

Bad news. Your sense of humor is about 64 years past its expiration date.

Ouchies! But very precise. Can't please everyone I guess.

Yes, but you gotta admit, your humor is meant for a very narrow niche of people.

In the realm of humor, your niche is probably a fraction of the size of Gallagher's niche, which is limited to people who think watching a man smash watermelons is funny.

I admit nothing. There are people who like my stuff, and people who don't. That's really all there is to it.

Well, I don't disagree with that; I was only referring to the percentage of people who like your type of humor versus those who don't.

But I'm just guessing at the size of your niche. It's not like I conducted a survey or anything.

For all I know your work will be featured on "The 700 Club" next week, to make it more edgy.

I couldn't tell you.

What I can say is, I will use that at the front of my next piece, and if, at my first screening with a significant number of folks, it and the piece play well (I hope to God the piece plays well, I've been working on it for more than a year), it stays. If it is met with moans, boos, slaps to my head, then maybe I rethink the whole thing. Big changes. YOu know, color the water pink or something.

Use the first audience or two as a "focus group". Judge their reactions to various elements of my work. When I find consistent responses across groups of people, positive or negative, I'll have a better idea of what's working and what isn't.

I did that with my last "short", ended up cutting ten minutes out of a 33-minute film, and made it much tighter.

Welcome to the niche, buddy. The body heat of the other two guys'll keep you warm.

I know how that is, I had to turn off the comments on one of my youtube animations.

I strongly disagree, Gallagher smashes a very wide variety of common household goods and not just watermelons-

I never said Gallagher only smashed watermelons. I said his niche was people who think watching a man smash watermelons is funny.

Gallagher, as I'm sure you know, has chosen the smashing of a watermelon as his signature joke. Hence, my comment.

Durrrr.
