I just got a motion computing m1400 that I snagged off ebay for $230. It's not the most powerful computer, but it runs all the apps I need (anime studio, painter essientials and pencil for sketching). With the wacom driver I also get pressure sensitivity so it's almost as good as paper and pencil!

Yes, I've got an Acer something or other. Tend not to use it for AS, though -- I prefer my desktop for that. I don't see any advantage to having a touch screen for this app.

I have a IBM x41 tablet pc and an external very little benq keyboard. It's all what I need. The computer is not too fast, but works fine with AS, Sai paint tool, Corel Draw, Premiere, etc.
To me, it really makes a huge difference to work with pencil instead mouse. Moreover, it's small and light, so I'm always with it on my back.

Sure do. Although I've never used it for vector editing. Mainly used when in Gimp or ArtRage. Oh, and signing pdf documents.

I have a Wacom and use it.
I have s sheet of paper tape on it. Two reasons. I don't like the feel of the nub on the plastic surface and the paper has written on it what all the buttons do.
The buttons:
right side:
Make shape, freehand, select shape, render.
Slider- raise shape, lower shape.
Left side:
Grab points, Add points, Tran. points, Peek points.
Slider- zoom.
pen buttons
right click, undo
erase- changed to open scene selector.
Once you get used to tracing by adding points you don't want to go back to using a mouse.

just got a Wacom Cintiq 12wx. Its awesome. I use it with Photoshop but haven't really tried using it with AS. Can't see any benefits with it unless I wanted to draw freehand in AS.

Howdy all, yup, I've got a TPC and a wacom for the desktop .The TPC is very useful but manufacturers need to make bigger and more powerful models , especially made for the art , animation and fx. Not for watching dvd's or for real estate agents and the like.
Wierdly I use the mouse mostly (unless freehand drawing) with the desktop PC when using ASP

Hi guys, I have some issues when using the tablet pc ( not to be confused with the wacom which is different).
It is to do with view navigation and zooming.
OK so here it is....

When I right click on the pen all is the same except the last tool used ( e.g. add points) is also activated, which in the case of add points means I get an extra point added every time I tight click the adjust the xy view.

The other issue which is with zooming the drawing view.
Apparently shift click should do this but I only get the rectangular selection zoom, which is just no good from my experience.
Any tips or observations would be greatly appreciated.
